Course Content Guidelines
At YOUniversity we’re all about creating a positive and respectful learning space. Our content guidelines are here to make sure everyone has a great experience and feels comfortable while exploring new topics.
We respect instructors’ creativity, giving you the freedom to shape your courses. But, it’s important that your courses match our policies and reflect our quality standards when you submit them for review. This ensures that we’re all on the same page and creating a fantastic learning environment.
Before you dive into creating content, we’d love for you to reach out to our Support Team using the Contact Us form, especially if your course involves any of the following topics, it’s a good idea to touch base. The more details you provide, the better we can help you navigate any potential challenges.
Remember, it’s all about finding the right balance between being creative and following our policies. While our Support Team is here to give you pointers on smaller adjustments, we don’t have resources for extensive coaching on course creation.
Here’s a rundown of some topics we want to handle with extra care:
- Discovering Sexuality: We want our platform to be safe for all learners, so explicit sexual content or discussions about sexual techniques aren’t allowed. But feel free to share important information about safe sex practices, consent, and the social or psychological aspects of human sexuality.
- Dress Code and Nudity: If your course touches on nudity, it should be in an artistic, academic, or medical context. And let’s keep attire appropriate for the topic – no unnecessary focus on body parts.
- Relationships and Dating: While we love discussing relationships, we steer clear of topics like flirting and attraction. But courses on building strong relationships or boosting self-confidence for dating are great!
- Being Responsible with Weapons: We’re all about safety, so we don’t allow courses that teach how to make or handle firearms. But if you have insights on self-defense or disarming techniques, that’s cool!
- Promoting Kindness, Not Violence: Anything that promotes violence or harmful behavior isn’t what we’re about. But if you’re into martial arts or have programs for recovery from substance abuse, that’s fantastic!
- Caring for Animals: If your course involves animals, let’s make sure we’re treating them kindly and in line with animal welfare guidelines.
- Respecting Each Other: Our platform is all about respect, so content that promotes discrimination based on factors like race, gender, or religion isn’t allowed.
- Staying Legal and Ethical: We want everyone to stay safe, so content that’s illegal in many places or encourages unethical behavior isn’t a good fit. But we’re all ears if you want to share tips on finding deals or cheats!
- Facts Matter: We love a good discussion, but we avoid sharing misleading or false information. Let’s keep things accurate and respectful.
- Being Sensitive and Inclusive: We want everyone to feel welcome, so let’s be mindful of how we approach sensitive topics. No inflammatory or offensive language or visuals, please!
- For Our Young Learners: While we don’t currently support young learners, we’re excited to have learners who are 18 or above the age of consent. If you’re creating content for the younger crowd, make sure parents or guardians are in the loop.
