About Lesson

Toxoplasma Gondii, a protozoan parasite, reproduces in the gut of cats and spreads through durable eggs shed in cat faeces. It manipulates rodents by rewiring their brain, turning fear into attraction to cat urine, aiding in its reproductive cycle.

In humans, Toxoplasma has been linked to behavioural changes, mental illnesses, and even cultural differences. The parasite poses risks to immunocompromised individuals and pregnant women, while also impacting marine species by contaminating water sources. The infection has been associated with deaths of marine animals like Hawaiian monk seals and spinner dolphins.
